John the Baptist! Trusting through Death

Looking at John's dealings with Jesus, confirming that God had shown He was the one, the question posed by his disiples was more or less a reassurance for them and others that Jesus was "The Messiah". It may be that he had a different expectation as to the way things would end for him, but his ministry was completed.
