Soul Rest on the Solid Rock

A firm foundation will keep a house sturdy during the harsh rain storm. Jesus used this illustration to teach how we need to found our life on Him. He is the firm rock and His Word is the steady foundation for our life and for eternity.

Isaiah prophesied using this image and taught of Christ hundreds of years before Jesus was born.

Text - Therefore thus says the Lord God, "Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a tested stone, A costly cornerstone for the foundation, firmly placed. He who believes in it will not be disturbed. (Isa. 28:16)

1. As you read Isaiah 28:1-15, why do you think the Lord says "Therefore" in verse 16?
2. What is being referred to as a cornerstone, and what is being built?
