Courageous Obedience

This carefully written passage moves us from Deuteronomy to the Conquest and beyond. It introduces us to Joshua and many of the important themes of the book while carrying along many of the concerns laid out by Moses. We are again reminded of the importance of listening. God speaks and we must listen. God speaks and we must obey. But our obedience can never become the basis of our confidence. Jesus' perfect obedience for us gives us the motivation that we need for the pursuit of godly living now and our confidence in the life of heaven to come.
