The God Shepherd

Who is Jesus Christ? That big question was on everyone's mind in 1st Century Israel. For over three years Jesus walked here on earth, performing great miracles and making outrageous claims, even claiming to be the great I AM. In John 11, He makes another of His outrageous claims: He is the GREAT Shepherd, the Genuine one who entered the sheepfold of Israel through the door of fulfilled prophecy. He presents Himself as the Gate Shepherd, who protects his own and is the gateway to abundant life here and in the hereafter. He also is to the Good Shepherd, for He voluntarily gave His life for His sheep. But He goes a step further. And presents Himself as the GOD Shepherd-- for He boldly proclaims, 'I and my Father are one'. Not 'one' in purpose. Not that the Father and Son are on the same 'page'. But rather one in essence; that is, Jesus claims to be GOD in the flesh!! As such He is the giver and guarantor of eternal life to those who hear His voice, consider his claims and works, and believe Him. He challenges everyone to consider the evidence of His life and follow it to its logical conclusion. Believe the clear testimony that Jesus Christ is indeed the GOD Shepherd!
