A Big Enough Need

A Big Enough Need has a way of overshadowing things that would usually offend those those without a big enough purpose.

Big needs lead to big purposes... that swallow little offensives.

Why? Two things usually motivate most people: purpose or pride. And it's their NEED that feeds both... and depending on if it's self centered (pride) or a sacrificial (purpose) NEED will depend upon how easily someone is offended by what others say or do.

And when your NEED IS GREATER than your pride... what [people] or [God] say to or about you won't distract you, derail you or damage you.

Both, the nobleman (John 4:46-54), who Jesus referred to as, "you people" and the Syro-Phoenician woman (Mark 7:24-30), the woman Jesus called a dog, had a great NEED that would NOT allow them to be offended by what He said to them.

  1. She had a Need.

  2. She heard of a Name.

  3. She hoped for a New Beginning.

And although Jesus called her a dog... it didn't stop her, slow her down or shut her up, she had a NEED and it was greater than her pride. (Mark 7:24-30)
