Resting in God's Sovereignty

Does teaching of God's sovereignty lead to apathy and a decline in church growth? Why does God leave some to themselves? Why do some hold to what they have been taught by tradition and not what Scripture reveals the LORD Jesus Christ to be? Why did Christ draw this needy woman unto Himself and cause her to know of her need? How does she know Christ as LORD? What was the sign that the Spirit was at work in her heart? Is the silence of God an answer? Why did this woman admit to being a 'dog'?
