How confident, how sophisticated, how self-assured is Ignorance. He has such a certainty of what is not certain that it causes us to stop and stare. Spiritual realities that should make the man-in-the-street shudder, don't even make Ignorance flinch. He never even questions whether or not he may be wrong. He is sadly decieved. What matters is NOT how you see yourself to be, but how God DECLARES you to be. But Ignorance doesn't value that highly either. It doesn't really worry him whether he is in a right relationship with God or not, because everything will be fine in the end regardless of where he stands. He has lulled himself into blissful self-deception about the realities of death and eternity. While on the surface, he may apprear friendly and approachable, he is actually shockingly hardened and resilient to the truth. Don't you see how desperate his situation is?
