13 Testing the Spirits: False Teachers

156

A miracle worker comes to town. He challenges all the evangelical preachers to gather in the city park. Tow giant altars are erected. He challenges the pastors to call down fire from heaven. What will happen – nothing. Then he calls down fire from heaven and the fire falls consuming the altar. A true miracle along the order of Elijah and the worshipers of Baal has occurred and it cannot be refuted. What will your response be? Who will you follow – the worker of earthly miracles or the teachers of the Word of God. For many, should miracles be preformed then the teaching is valid. A miracle worker heals the sick, then whatever he teaches is accepted as from God. A miracle worker prophecies the future, then whatever he teaches is accepted as from God. A miracle worker blesses you, your family or your church with great prosperity, then whatever he teaches is accepted as from God. A miracle worker teaches and the church miraculously grows into a super church, then whatever he is teaching is accepted as from God. Mysticism, spiritism and prosperity define the work and ministry of the Holy Spirit as opposed to the inspired, inerrant, eternal, written Word of God, the words of the Holy Spirit. In this lecture false teachers are exposed and the tests for exposing them are given.
