Don't Chase Greatness: Putting Ambition in its Place

As humans, we all chase greatness. We differ in the crowds we play to and the virtues we want to be recognized for, but we share an ambition for recognition and accomplishment that weighs us down, displaces God, and dismisses his promises. In a gentle rebuke of Jeremiah's assistant, Baruch, God reminds us that we are not the hero of the story - he is. "Do you seek great things for yourself? Seek them not."
