Jesus earnestly prayed to the Father saying, "I have given them Thy word". The "word" of the gospel was His subject. He earned perfect righteousness, which the Father accepted and imputed to the elect at the cross, declaring the "word". It's that exclusive "word" that Christ's disciples of every age declare to their generation.
