Sad Unbelief

In spite of the glaring authentication of His identity and mission, those who absolutely should have believed, didn't. Today, the same evidence exists, and the same unbelief persists. If the Jews truly believed who Jesus was, would they have suggested to God Incarnate that it was getting too dangerous for Him in those parts and that He should leave, for His own safety? Unbelief is sin. It goes way beyond an innocent lack of information. It is sad because it throws away, as worthless, the sum of all good. Jesus, knowing everything, was moved by people's unbelief. Does it impact me at an emotional level? Unbelief is an insult to the character and intentions of God. Yet, even unbelief is not great enough to slow God down in His intentions. He is not desperate against man's hard heart. He has no problem cutting through your rebellion. Yet the opposite is also true. As sad as unbelief is, God has no problem cutting down the rebel. This sermon is an appeal to you to come to God in repentance before that dreadfully sad day.
