Andrew Murray thought enough of this book that he wrote the Introduction...give that some thought!

Rev. MacNeil takes the second part of Ephesians 5:18, 'Be filled with the Spirit.' and makes that command the basis for this book. He shows that not only does God want us to be filled with the Holy Spirit, but He commands it. As with all commands from God, we are required to follow it.

Nowadays, when someone speaks of being filled with the Holy Spirit, the first thoughts are of 'speaking in tongues' and 'holy rollers'. This is not what Rev. MacNeil is talking about. Rev. MacNeil is speaking about being filled with the Spirit like Peter, Paul, and the other Apostles were. He uses many Scripture verses to not only prove that this is a requirement of Christians, but also to prove whether a person is filled or not. He speaks of the Baptism with the Holy Spirit, and daily re-fillings.

Although written about 1894, it is still a very powerful book. One that will make you take a serious look at your own spiritual life.
