The Fall of Man
Series Philadelphia Confession
355
Exegesis on the Fall of Man, or the Doctrine of Original Sin. Also exegeted, the Doctrine of Total Depravity.
Personally, I believe that Man is as bad as he can be because he will be as bad as God has ordained for him to be.
As Adam had already fallen from Grace, it didn't matter to what degree he had fallen, but rather that the fact that he did fall, was enough. Adam, being our Federal Head, the leader of the human race, represents us, as his posterity.
Degree of depravity becomes irrelevant. Man is as bad as he will ever be just by being conceived.
Therefore, depravity is not just total, it is "utter". Man is utterly depraved.
