Exodus 16:1-15
Series Exodus (2008-09)
302
In Exodus 16, we are only a month out from the great deliverance at the parting of the Red Sea and, already, we see the 'mixed multitude' murmuring against the God-ordained leadership of Moses and Aaron.
God shows His grace and longsuffering by providing a feast of quail with the long term provision of manna. But the story of the wilderness wandering is the story of the constant backsliding and murmuering.
We will look at the later account of Numbers 11 when God responds, again, to the murmuring of the 'mixed multitude' but after providing quail, He judges them with a plague.
Murmuring is an effective tool used by Satan to destroy people, families and churches. And we see this played out in the story of the Exodus of the Hebrews.
