Vs12: “Quick” means “alive”. Only the word of God is alive, described as an offensive weapon. “Soul” means “alive”, “full of life”, like any living being. “Spirit” is what man has, not animals. When we die, our SPIRIT goes to heaven. The soul just stops, runs out of energy, and does not go to heaven. “Is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” – every action you take is for a reason, and God knows the reason, good or wicked.
Vs13: nothing is hidden from God. Everything is transparent to God. We can hide our secrets from other men, but not God. He knows all, and He's going to judge that someday.

Now, for a change of views. This scripture here, Hebrews 4:14 through the 7th chapter is about Jesus Christ. Prophet tells people what God wants them to known. Priest presents man before God. King rules. Christ is prophet, priest, and king. If you have something you want to confess, tell Jesus. These days, the term “Jesus Christ” is being forbidden to utter in public, like schools and businesses. We can say “God”, “Lord”, but not Jesus Christ.
Vs14: Jesus is in heaven. Change “profession” to “confession”. Hold on to your confession. The Hebrews were sliding back to their old ways, so they were told to hold on.
Vs15: We are being told we have a high priest right there in heaven, He knows our feelings, He knows what we are going through because He went through all that we go through. Jesus Christ was tempted with all that we....
