False gods Made Unclean

The saga of Jacob and Laban comes to a close with a great contest between Laban’s false gods and the God of Jacob’s fathers. Laban’s gods are shown to be unclean and helpless - just as foolish and silly as Laban proves to be, while the power of the “Fear of Isaac” cannot be overcome. Jacob’s faith comes to the forefront – the faith of one who is washed clean by the blood of the atoning sacrifice.
