All 7's and The First 7. And a discussion of today's churches

818

We have returned after being off for the high holy day of Super Baal, and we jump back onto the shallow water of our Romans study. “Jumping into the shallow water” is very much unlike us, but there are very few of us here today and our pastor is stalling so he won't have back up the bus for the ones who weren’t here.
.
Today we start with a rant about the idioms of the church today. See 2nd Peter 2:18, talking about swelling words that people marvel at. They'll say "God" over and over again but you'll never hear them mention the name Jesus Christ. Chronister's wisdom and insight here is something most today do not want to hear... and we like it.

But back to where we are. "All 7's Return To The First 7". I believe that for today we'll still be in introduction mode, but he's been known for going deep into scripture just introducing a case he is making.

So here is what he puts on the board to get us started:

  1. The man and his wife are both naked / Not Ashamed
  2. Serpent of Old (Revelation 12:9) Attack The Woman
(and the commentary here is great stuff)
    Here’s your choices. Was Adam...
    a. Afraid of God
    b. Afraid of Satan
    c. Afraid of Adam (himself)
    d. Afraid of Eve
    e. Afraid For Adam
    f. Afraid For Eve

After pastor references a wonderful letter from Jennifer from AZ, he goes to Ephesians 2:1-10, which references back to passages in Romans. This description of Jesus/God needs to always be side by side any passage you read in the Old Testament.

Alright... from here you're on your own. Listen and write down the questions that come up so you can take the ones you're really wrestling with and bring them to this pastor. He'll be happy to assist you.
