It has been said that “if you can’t explain it to a six year old, you don’t understand it yourself.” Simply put, if you don’t know how to boil something down to its bare essentials, then you don’t fully grasp that thing. That quote has often times been attributed to Albert Einstein, probably referencing an aspect of quantum mechanics, but the point being made is still pertinent to us.

Think about your understanding of the Bible and theology. God’s word is chock-full of complexities and intricacies that some theologians will spend decades studying, and sometimes never fully understanding.

Dr. Kennedy posits that in order to understand the essentials of the Bible, you must look at two things, grace and law. These two things have been misconstrued by many, and understanding the relationship they share is vital to fully understanding God’s word.
