Stand Firm; Intro 2

In last week's study, we learned from Scripture that--in Christ--we are conscripts in a very real, very powerful war. In what is thought to be his last epistle, the apostle Paul wrote to his young subordinate in arms -- these Words of caution:

'No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier.' (2 Tm. 2:4).

How easy it is for Christians to become distracted in the cares of the world around us. But, we must never forget that we are in the midst of an ongoing spiritual battle. This battle knows no armistice. It rages all around us every day -- all of our lives. How crucial it is then to be found in our spiritual armor ready for battle each and every day.

William Gurnall wrote: 'In heaven we shall appear, not in armor, but in robes of glory. But here these are to be worn night and day; we must walk, work, and sleep in them, or else we are not true soldiers of Christ.' Its that simple. Be dressed and ready.

Join us for our 'Stand Firm' series from Eph. 6 as we explore the various components of the most important suit we own.
