The Heart and Holiness of God

Hosea's marriage to Gomer was used of God to illustrate His plan and purpose to redeem a wicked and sinful people to Himself, sanctifying them in holiness and enabling them to listen and obey all that He commands. Israel under the old covenant was a type and shadow of the bride of Christ, the church of the gospel age. The church does not replace Israel, the church fulfills Israel.
