Why does Hebrews focus on angels in the first and second chapters? The reason is found in the Psalms that are quoted to demonstrate Christ's superiority over all things. Christ, as the Son of God, Creator and Sustainer of the universe, became a man in order to redeem fallen mankind and restore a redeemed humanity to God's original purpose (Psalm 8:5, 6). Jesus succeeded where Adam failed.
