I. We Must Come to Christ Remembering Who He is a Living Stone, the Chief Cornerstone, Chosen By God and Precious (vs. 4, 6-8)

• “A Living Stone,” “Chief Cornerstone” (vs. 4, 6-7a)
• Chosen by God and Precious in the Sight of God (Isaiah 28:16)
• All Who Believe in Him will Not be Put to Shame (v. 6b)
• Precious to Those Who Obey the Gospel (v. 7a)
• Rejected by Men, by “the Builders” (vs. 4, 7-8; Acts 4:11-12; Isaiah 8:14; Romans 9:32)
• A Stone of Stumbling (v. 7b)
• A Rock of Offense (v. 8a)
• Appointed to Stumble (v. 8b; Matthew 21:44)

Conclusion/Application

In What Way Do you Come to Christ - By Faith Seeing Him for Who He is? Or Do you Come to Him in Doubt and Shame, Especially in Times of Extreme Trials?
