Evangelism, Church Growth, and Church Discipline

Oftentimes when we are not experiencing numerical growth in our churches we look to ungodly methods to try to increase our size. But is it possible that a part of the problem is that we are not pruning dead & lifeless branches from our membership roles as God has commanded us to? In the story of Ananias & Sapphira we learn that the exercise of church discipline is not a hindrance to church growth, but actually a God-ordained means to it!
