Preparing for heaven—holy waiting

As Peter holds the hope and glory of heaven before the people of God, he urges them not only to a holy working, but to a holy waiting. Despite scoffers and spiritual seducers, believers must grasp hold of the fact that the Lord's patience in returning in glory is for the gathering in of the elect and the building up of his church. We must therefore trust the united testimony of the Scriptures, and not be drawn aside from a life of faith and godliness.
