The Response

The brothers of Joseph were tested in order to expose their hearts, and to change their hearts. In Judah's plea to Joseph, we see a contrast in Judah over time. Years before, Judah was callous as he suggested selling Joseph into slavery. But now, he displays self-sacrificing love, offering himself as a servant in place of Benjamin.
