Ezekiel - the neglected prophet

331

Our aim in these studies has been to try to place the prophets of the Old Testament in their chronological order as they appeared in the history of Israel.
Such studies are not intended to be an in-depth and detailed examination of each prophetical book, for the simple reason it is not possible to do such a thing in one message.
The aim is to look at the prophet's ministry in relation to the nation of Israel and the situation prevailing at that time.
This is all we can do with the ministry and prophecy of Ezekiel, which occupies our study tonight. You will see from the chapter numbers that this Book contains 48 chapters. The volume of content would prevent us from obtaining a detailed outline of the Book let alone an in-depth study in one message.
What I do want to do is give some general information about the man, his ministry and message, which I hope will whet your appetite to read further and look closer into this neglected Book.
There are five characteristics which I want to highlight:

1: The location of his ministry
2: The length of his ministry
3: The lament of his ministry
4: The light of his ministry
5: The lesson of his ministry
