The worship of God during the hard times is part of true Christianity. So is acting against your own self-interests. Both are a powerful witness to a watching world. About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. The two had just been unjustly beaten and jailed. They didn't fight or complain. The earthquake came and opened the doors and broke the chains. Yet Paul and Silas stayed there, and the jailer fell to his knees in fear asking them the most important question of life, "What must I do to be saved?" True salvation always results in changed lives. To deal with your wrongs you must first give up your rights. All to Jesus I surrender!
