The Faith and Love of the First Martyr

You will likely not die a martyr under a hail of falling stones; but you will have dark days. When those dark days come will you be marked by faith in God and love, even for your enemies?

A close examination of the story of Stephen's life, ministry and death reveals the key to living a life 'full of faith', 'full of wisdom', 'full of love' and 'full of power'. If we want this sort of life, we need a spiritual life - and the only way to have a spiritual life is to be 'full of the Spirit.'

This sermon points to the ways in which Stephen was full of the Spirit and the effect it had upon him. We also consider how we too can have such a 'spiritual' life.
