You Married Well

70

In the beginning of the sixth heptad (group of sevens), which are the Seven Judgments upon Babylon, we must first see Babylon for who she is so we understand her severe judgments, the call in 18:4 to come out of her, and the rejoicing over her utter and total downfall. There is a direct connection and contrast to the Whore, Babylon in the wilderness, and the Woman (the Church), Jerusalem in the wilderness and their two different seed. Babylon is an ugly bride of the Devil who is fallen; the Church is the beautiful bride of Christ who is risen. The Harlot is a defeated city. The Woman is victorious Jerusalem. Babylon births more harlots; Jerusalem births Christ and all His holy seed (Ch. 12). The Harlot is decked out in evil extravagance that perishes; the Woman is dressed in glorious godliness that lives forever (Ps. 45:8-17; Rev. 19:7-8; 21:2, 9-11). Babylon parties now but dies. The Church will enjoy an eternal supper with the Lamb.
