Judgment and Resurrection
Series Lessons from Acts
People live in a world of make-believe. They have their own form of religion that is a fantasy and have hopes that everything will go on as before. The world of the Bible is the world of truth. It clashes with the prevailing culture to reveal that it is God who made the world and who governs it. It shows us that our efforts to find Him are like gropings in the dark. In Athens, as in our present day, the message will stir the conscience and ring true even if people reject the implications. We have the task of announcing a future world where there will be a judgement to come and the resurrection of the dead, all of it to be revealed at the return of Christ. The sad part is that Christians will be ridiculed as though they belonged to the fantasy world. But, as in Athens, there are those who will believe and join the real world that the Lord reveals.
