What We Open…
Blessings... I pray this message will find you in a place where your heart is tender and eager to be fed and encouraged.
There are three things Paul did consistently and courageously.
He Opened His Mouth
He Opened His Bible
He Opened His Life
Yes, as simple as this sounds, is as simple as it is! Paul, simply but significantly, was a man who opened his mouth for Christ, and then he opened the Scriptures to teach and pointed them to Christ, and then he opened his life to ridicule, rejection, scrutiny, and as an example to share how this same Jesus interrupted and transformed his life. That's it... a man who opened things! And we find that as he opened these three things, before the people, the Lord opened hearts and heaven to those who were poor in spirit, perishing in their sin, and needed Jesus to rescue them.
Glory, hallelujah, and as Paul opened...God opened every needful thing — that Paul couldn't open — that was absolutely necessary — for Him to fulfill his assignments.
This is how it reads:
"And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned [He opened his Mouth] with them out of the Scriptures [He opened his Bible], opening and alleging [He opened his Life], that Christ had to suffer, and rise again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ." (Acts 17:2-3)
Opening up our lives is a very important part of the whole. It's an essential part of the three things he did. Let me explain. The word "alleging" or "demonstrating" means to place alongside. Paul used his life and other testimonies to cast alongside the truth he just opened up. And with God's help, to show how the life, death, and r
