A Royal Priesthood

If anyone is in Christ, the apostle Paul says, he is a new creation, the old has gone the new has come (2 Cor. 5:17). And as a new creation, we now have a new identity and a new calling. Apparently, it's important to Peter that we understand our identity in Christ, because in these four verses we have at least 10 different descriptions: we're a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, etc. Along with our new identity, we have received a new calling: we are to proclaim the excellencies of him who called us out of darkness into his marvelous light.
