What hope do we have?

Paul was not without hope for the Colossian Church. He saw clear evidence of a living gospel in their love and faith that sprang from a sure and certain inheritance of the Kingdom. He knew that the more they were filled with the knowledge of His will the more they would be launched into Christ's fruitful action, action that liberated men and women from the hopeless dominion of darkness.

Growing in their knowledge of God, being strengthened with His great power to 'hang in' no matter what, and knowing the deep joy and gratitude of those who have been qualified by sheer grace to inherit the Kingdom, this was his prayer and abounding expectation.
