The Great Cloud of Witnesses

Overview of sermon: The writer of Hebrews includes in Chapter 11 a long list of men and women in the Bible who are often referred to as heroes of faith. They were considered heroes because God had commended them for their faith in the midst of challenging and difficult times in their lives. In Chapter 12, they are called a great cloud of witnesses as they testify to their “making it” through this life by faith through the grace of God. Their testimonies offer encouragement for us to persevere even when we want to give up on God. The reward is eternal life.
