Throw Away Your Resume

Throw away your resume. You don’t need it. In
fact, it can’t help you.
Many people think that religious activities like
going to church, taking communion, and
volunteering their service somehow make God more
pleased with them.
Without even realizing it, they’re working to
achieve righteousness; they measure themselves
and others via a religious resume.
The gospel is much better news than that… it is
simply to receive righteousness freely by God’s
grace. The gospel compels us to set aside any
claim or effort toward a righteousness of our own,
and to trust only in the righteous life of Christ.
It is Jesus’ perfect resume – not the resume of
our own religious works – that saves us and keeps
us saved. Isn’t that good news?
