Sour Wine

The actions of the soldiers as they raise a sponge of sour or vinegar wine to Christ's lips in response to his cry, "I Thirst" are filled with symbolism and fulfillment of the Scriptures that point us to the true nature of the cross in securing the Gospel for Sinners.
