Pakistan government orders inquiry into death of Christian youth in jail

214

Suffering is one of the greatest ministries we have in service of the Lord Jesus Christ. When Paul recounted the heroic tale of his ministry he chronicled his suffering for the sake of the gospel. When we think of all the wonderful works of the Lord Jesus in healing and teaching and working miracles we know that none of these made him our savior. It was his suffering for our sins that mattered above all and made him our Savior.

Let's not campaign to end suffering. Lets pray for boldness in the midst of it. Let us seek out for ourselves how we may take part in this ministry of suffering as well. Let God bring suffering on you to make you more and more holy and Christ like. Allow your heart to be filled with sorrow and pain as you learn to grieve at the things that grieve the Spirit of God and as you allow your life to be poured out as a drink offering in service of the King. Let each set sorrow of life come to you from the Sovereign hand of God. Take your suffering as a from the hand of a sovereign loving God and consecrate it to God, say, “God let me bless you in my trials and through my trials.” Remember that your suffering is for His names sake… as such he is with you in it, so that he may be glorified in you and from you by it.

How odd that Christians in some land fear the up raised sword and Christians in our land fear the up raised eyebrow. Whatever, only be bold… pray for boldness and power in your witness… and take up with delight the ministry of suffering for his name sake.
