Can You Obey God's Law On Your Own?

Can we properly obey the Law of God?

John points out the great love of our God is by showing us how perfectly Holy God is, and contrasting it by how imperfectly Holy we are. Taking this passage to heart should train our consciouses to convict us of our sins, and instill the desire to repent and sin no more. Paul points out in 1 Corinthians 15:56 that the power of sin is the Law. The Law when properly installed in our conscious will show us the power of sin in our lives and convict us to repent.

We run into danger when we fight our conscious and sin even though we know better. All sin is lawlessness, and all sin deserves God's wrath, but consider what more destruction sins against our conscious can do.

As you listen, consider if your conscious is convicting you, or excusing you. Think how you can train up a Godly conscious that will alert you to purposeful sin in your life, one that will drive you to stamp out sin in your life. You will see that the answer is obedience to God and his Law.
