The Falling Away

One of the events associated with the time of the Second Coming of Christ is the Falling Away, or the Great Apostasy. We know that no born again believer can ever be lost, but there are lots of people who have had connection with the Church who have turned their backs on the Faith once for all delivered to the saints. As we look at the modern Western Church, we see terrible evidence of this kind of apostasy from the Truth of God's Word. We also see the steady apostasy from Christian influence among nations that once at least gave lip service to acknowledging the Lord Jesus.
