Christian Citizenship

Sermon: Dr. Kennedy explains in this message that Christians are instructed to render unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s. And that doesn’t only mean paying our taxes. It means praying for our nation, and using our votes to influence the country toward righteousness. Too often, Christians have shrunk back from that responsibility. But this message encourages us in making a decisive difference with God’s help. --- Feature: People have gotten America into the mess it’s in and people, especially God’s people, can get them out! But why is it that Christians do not get involved or even vote? Some say because getting involved in politics doesn’t bring anyone into the Kingdom. But aren’t we supposed to do good works? We are both citizens of heaven AND citizens of this world, and have responsibility, under God, for this world and our fellow citizens, to provide a safe and free and just society in which we all live. Jesus commands, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” As far as voting, we must vote for the candidate that MOST reflects Biblical values.
