The Necessity of Prayer

Our faith in Christ makes prayer a necessity. Prayer is the instrument to which faith is apprehended and is the evidence of a repentant heart. The purpose of prayer is to praise God and to petition Him to give us what He has promised so that man kind may see that He is God. This is why prayer should be God-centered. Through prayer God's glory and rights are seen. In prayer we seek Christ to mordify sin in our lives and placing our hope in Christ so that we may persevere to the end. Prayer reveals God's sustaining grace; therefore, we are to pray for our elders as the calling and the perfecting of the saints continues to be mandated by Christ.
