The Psalms, Anatomy of The Soul: Psalm 133

31

Psalm 133 is a brief epigram, another of the set of 15 psalms of ascent. Its topic is unity and the great value of unity both to believers and to people outside the faith. Unity is also a necessity for worship.

Verse 2 describes the anointing of God's chosen - both in actuality and in symbol - and of those things consecrated to God - the tools of worship in the temple. Anointing sets people and objects apart for God's use.

In the high priestly prayer found in the Gospel of John, ch. 17, Jesus speaks of the complete unity of the Godhead, the three-in-one.
