How is being led away exercising authority? How is being the object of the priests, scribes and elders, consultation . . . exercising authority? It would seem that Jesus was subject to, or under, their authority. But that is NOT what Mark wants his readers to hear and see. No . . . Jesus Christ the King exercises His authority, His sovereign lordship, in powerful obedience and meekness.
