The Unforgivable Sin
Series The Gospel of Mark
187 ( 100 | 87 )
Jesus says that there is one sin that is unforgivable -- blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. What is that? In the context, it is attributing the Spirit's power of casting out demons to the devil. Yet, in the OT, God said He would not forgive the Israelites if they turned to other gods. In Hebrews 6 and 10, we read that those who have once been enlightened and then have turned away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance. All these are seemingly unforgivable. How do we reconcile them? We will examine this. The teaching is sobering. There is that once committed cuts a person off forever from salvation. After that point, it simply doesn't matter how many people pray for the individual's salvation. He or she will never be saved.
