Our Forever Priest

What does Melchizedek have to do with our life and faith? What difference will hearing about him on Sunday make to our Monday morning? We may think we have no need for a priest at all. But, on the contrary, we dare not even think of drawing near to God without one. We need a high priest who can take away our sin, cleanse our conscience, and mediate between us and God on our behalf. In Jesus Christ we have such a high priest! Forever! And because he is a high priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him. What difference will that make to your Monday morning? Much, in every way!

The writer of Hebrews makes much of Melchizedek because he wants to make much of Christ. Pray that we might hear what he has to say.
