The Parable of the Leaven

There are many groups that the Kingdom of God is one that is yet to be established on earth. In contrast the bible teaches that the kingdom of God is a present reality in the lives of God's chosen people (Jeremiah 31:33, Luke 17:21). While in many places in the bible leaven is used as an emblem of sin, in the Lord's teaching in Matthew 13, the Lord uses it as an emblem of the Kingdom. As such, the Lord speaks of the utterly effectual nature of the regenerating spirit of God that works its way through the entirety of God's elect people, quickening them all into divine life, in fulfillment of God's covenant promises (John 6:37).
