(357) Do You Fear the Judge? - Mt.7:21-23

In Genesis 18:25 Abraham gives God this awesome title: "the Judge of all the earth." He says, "Will not the judge of all the earth do right?"
It really is a sobering way of thinking about God. One day God will pass eternal judgment on every human being who has ever lived. And that judgment will be final, unalterable, no appeals, no arguments, no purgatory—nothing but the eternal fate he sentences you to.
So is that something we as believers should fear? Obviously unbelievers should fear him as judge, but us? We're his children, aren't we?
Yes, we are. And we love God with the intimacy of a child in his father's arms. He is our Father, but he is also our judge.
1 Peter 1:17 Since you call on a Father who judges each man's work impartially, live your lives as strangers here in reverent fear.
Should we fear God as our judge? Yes, even as we call on him as our Father.
As you listen to today's episode, try to allow the truths about God as our judge to stimulate feelings of awe and deeper reverence and, yes, fear of displeasing him.
