A Definition of Marriage

The definition of marriage is determined by its origin, as witnessed in Genesis 2:24. This verse is echoed in Ruth, and is quoted four times in the New Testament. By examining these passages, we learn that not every sexual union is a marriage, and that by definition, marriage is a sexual union of a man and woman by covenant.
