Atonement or Particular Redemption
Series Doctrines of Grace
In the well-known acrostic for the doctrines known as "The Five Points of Calvinism" or "Doctrines of Grace," PARTICULAR REDEMPTION holds the central place. Notice:
T - Total depravity and spiritual inability.
U - Unconditional Election
L - Limited Atonement or Particular, Definite Redemption of God's elect.
I - Irrisistible Grace or the Effectual Call of the Spirit
P - Perseverance and Preservation of the redeemed elect of God.
Hear Bro. Lucas in his simple, Biblical manner on this cardinal point — perhaps the most hated of all the doctrinal points of the SOVEREIGN, SAVING GRACE OF GOD. Christ died for those given Him by the Father — in other words "the sheep" (John 10:11), those who were "given HIM of the Father" (John 17:12), the "many" (Mat. 20:28; 26:28), the "predestinated" (Eph. 1:5-12).
Praise God that my Lord came to seek and to save the lost (Luke 19:10) — and everyone He seeks He also "justifies" — for He certainly DID actually "bear their inquities" (Isa. 53:10-11). Amen.
