Love & Mercy: The Center of the Sermon on the Mount

At the center of the Sermon of the Mount is the command from Jesus to show love and mercy: To Love, serve, bless and pray for those who hate us, curse us, spitefully use us, insult us, waste our goods and refuse to repay loans!
Pastor Stoos uses a focused or chiastic outline of the Sermon on the Mount as recorded by Luke to show that the center is the command to 'be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.
This high calling is the center of the Gospel: We love God because He first loved us with His gracious gift of salvation (Eph. 2:1-10p) and then we are to love others as the demonstration of who God is to the watching world.
